raw daisies is a

(seize the means of)

production company.

If we had to start it all back over, if every piece of film, theater, music, and fashion that we’ve ever produced evaporated, raw daisies would bloom again from this central tenet:

that the right to artistic expression, production, distribution, and appreciation is a human right, the people’s right, and that it must never be f***** with.

For us that means getting it straight to the people. We throw parties and screen our films there. We put on plays in studio apartments. We print by hand every shirt that we sell.

We believe that audiences do have good taste, that they do have attention spans and that to believe otherwise is to confuse a crisis of capitalism with a crisis of culture. We think if you bring good s*** to people at a price they can afford, they’ll come.

Furthermore, we think that giving artists access to that paying audience is not an act of charity. It’s the most straight-forward, cost-effective, and logical way to do good business. It’s also the right thing to do, by the way.
